Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is responsible for the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Among COVID-19 complications, in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) was reported with a very poor outcome in a retrospective single-center study (0,7% of 30 days survival with good neurological outcome among IHCA patients with a resuscitation attempt), related to its natural course and management. The incidence of unexpected in-ICU cardiac arrest (ICUCA) due to COVID-19 is still unknown. Additionally, outcome of COVID-19 patients admitted in ICU for an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is also undescribed. The objective this study is : - to report the incidence of ICUCA among patients hospitalized in French ICU for COVID-19. - to report morbidity and mortality among COVID-19 patients admitted alive in ICU for an OHCA or an IHCA. The secondary objective is to assess outcome and identify risk factors of ICUCA occurrence among patients admitted for COVID-19.

Online Distance Learning (ODL) is an educational delivery system that helps students to join in an educational opportunity without physically existing in the same setting as the teacher. Online learning is known as the education that takes place over the Internet, often referred to as e-Learning, web-based training (WBT), distance learning, or asynchronous learning. When learners participate in an online learning course at different times, it is known as asynchronous learning. online learning involves the umbrella term for any learning that takes place across distance and not in a traditional classroom. WHO recommends Implement social distancing practices that may include; Staggering the beginning and end of the school day and Use of online/e-learning strategies? The coronavirus pandemic has changed how millions around the globe are educated. new shifts in education approaches could widen equality gaps. As of March 13, the Organization for Economic Co-operation estimated that over 421 million students are affected due to school closures announced or implemented in 39 countries. Most faculties in affected areas are finding stop-gap solutions to continue teaching, but the quality of learning is heavily dependent on the level and quality of digital access. Therefore, the current study aimed to assess Nursing students' perception and achievement regarding unplanned shifting the Traditional Classroom-Based to Online Distance Learning as a result of (COVID-19) social distancing measures. H1: Learning perception is lower for nursing students who learned by unplanned Online Distance Learning (μ1) than for those who learned by Traditional Classroom-Based learning (μ2), (H1: μ1 < μ2). H1: Scholar achievement is greater for nursing students who learned by Traditional Classroom-Based learning (μ1) than for those who learned by unplanned Online Distance Learning (μ2), (H1: μ1 > μ2). A quasi-experimental research design will be utilized in the current study with a comparative approach. A purposive sample of adult male and female bachelor's students of nursing will be asked to participate in the current study. Three tools will be adopted to collect data relevant to the current study. 1. A brief demographic self-administrated questionnaire 2. Students' Learning Perception Questionnaire (SLPQ), 3. Modified McVay's Readiness for Online Learning Questionnaire

The primary objective of this trial is to improve the proportion of COVID-19 patients with severe pneumonia who no longer need to be hospitalized, and to reduce the need for and duration of mechanical ventilation in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia complicated by acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to hypertension, autoimmune, infectious and cardiovascular diseases which are risk factors for COVID-19. Moreover, COVID-19 patients have a very high prevalence of hypovitaminosis D (Turin data). Taken together, we aim to investigate whether genetic variants in vitamin D-related genes contribute to a poor COVID-19 outcome, particularly in hypertension and CV patients, proposing thus a personalized therapeutics based on vitamin D supplementation in order to reduce the severity and deaths.

Most patients in intensive care units (ICUs) experience severe sleep disruption. Sleep disruption and sleep alteration may have an influence on the ability to breathe spontaneously. But, the cause of altered sleep remains unknown. Previous studies have shown that decreasing nocturnal respiratory muscle activity through mechanical ventilation might improve sleep quality. Nocturnal respiratory muscle activity may be one of the potential factor which contribute to alter sleep in the ICU. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyse the presence of NIM activation during the night and it's consequence in an ICU population with the same pathology (COVID 19 ARDS).

On January 9, 2020, a new emerging virus was identified by WHO as being responsible for grouped cases of pneumonia in China. It is a coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, responsible for the disease COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease). The disease is mild in 85% of cases but the proportion of serious cases requiring hospitalization or intensive care (15%) puts stress on health structures and systems around the world. To limit the influx of patients and avoid overstretching Health systems, containment and social distancing strategies are widely adopted. It appears crucial to propose the easiest possible therapeutic strategy taking into account the ambulatory nature of the patients. Therefore azithromycin (AZM) is an antibiotic known to have an antiviral effect but also which has anti-inflammatory activity in addition to its antimicrobial effect. Azithromycin targets preferentially pulmonary cells (and particularly of the lines apparently affected in COVID-19 positive cases). The aim of this study is to demonstrate that AZM decreases symptom duration in COVID19 patients and diminishes the viral carriage.

The outbreak linked to SARS-CoV-2 pandemic resulted in lock-down measures in almost all European countries. This online survey assesses these measures implications on Mental Health in emerging adults. The questionnaires evaluate two psychometric variables (Resilience and Loneliness) and Mental Health status (mental health professional help-seeking, use of psychotropic drugs, or possible diagnosis) before and during Lock-down Measures. At least 600 healthy participants aged form 18 to 25 years old will be attended to fill the survey during the SARS-CoV2 Pandemic Lock-down Measures.

This research aims to improve knowledge of the epidemiology of patients consulting in the COvid Possible REspiratory Units (RECOP unit). Indeed, the epidemic linked to COVID19 affects France and impacts its health system. The reception of all intermediate patients will be on the Emergency Structures (SU). Indeed, the French healthcare system centralizes unscheduled urgent care on the ER. The aspecific respiratory symptomatology in "intermediate" patients indicates them all the more at an admission to SU or the diagnostic approach to respiratory difficulty may be carried out. It will be necessary to identify the diagnosis of the dyspneic patient and to define his virological status COVID before referring him to the appropriate units. The investigatory propose an original strategy of dedicating entire care sectors to the care of patients admitted for dyspnea in our ER. These units will be named RECOP units. This study would improve epidemiological knowledge of COVID-19 and ability to receive these patients within the SU.
