- There is a knowledge gap associated with the management of patients with COVID-19 lung injury and a laboratory picture compatible with disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Clinical data to date support that COVID-19 is associated with a prothrombotic state that is not simply explained by an influx of more critically ill individuals. - These patients suffer from severe respiratory failure; hypoxemia and ventilator dependence are the primary concerns; ARDS with respiratory failure is frequently the cause of death. Macroscopic and probable microvascular thromboembolic events are a major concern in this population. - When DIC is associated with COVID-19, it predicts a very poor prognosis. - This study will evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of low-dose IV bolus tenecteplase (TNK) together with anticoagulation compared with control patients on therapeutic anticoagulation alone in hospitalized adults diagnosed with COVID-19 and acute intermediate-risk PE. - Prospective, multicenter, randomized two-arm trial enrolling consecutive patients who meet enrollment criteria. - The study will generate evidence that low-dose TNK together with anticoagulation is beneficial in these patients

The main purpose of this study is to identify possible predictor factor of mortality in patients affected by COVID-19 with respiratory failure needing oxygen therapy or ventilatory support. In addiction the study aims to identify factors related to: predisposition to SARS-CoV2 viral infection, different symptoms, response to therapy, predisposition to complications related to the disease. To this end, the haemodynamic parameters and all imaging reports will be evaluated and clinical and laboratory tests as well as cellular and molecular analyzes will be performed in the analyzed patients. In addition, investigations will be carried out on the profile of the alveolar or nasal microbiota and, if possible, of the metabolic products, and estimates on antibody titers.

The study investigates how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the psychological, financial, physical, and social well-being of adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer patients and survivors. AYA cancer survivors have inferior long-term survival compared to the general population, and the negative impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic may be even higher in this vulnerable group. The information gained from this study may provide an opportunity to determine the self-reported COVID-19 specific psychological distress in AYA cancer survivors, and may lead to the development of a targeted intervention to improve physical and psychosocial health for AYA cancer patients and survivors.

Little is currently known about the immediate and long-term effect of COVID-19 on lung ventilation (delivery of air to the lungs) and lung perfusion (delivery of blood to the lungs). Some people who survive COVID-19 may have lung ventilation and/or perfusion injury that persists following COVID-19 recovery. This lung injury may be related to inflammation in the lung, breathlessness, exercise limitation and reduced quality of life. Therefore, towards the goal of understanding the effects of COVID-19 on lung health, the purpose of this study is to characterize and understand the clinical relevance of COVID-19 related lung ventilation and perfusion injury and associated inflammatory status, ≤4 weeks and 6-months following COVID-19 recovery in an asthmatic and healthy population. To do this, an asthmatic and healthy population who have, and have not, been previously diagnosed with COVID-19 will be studied.

Viral pandemics, such as HIV and SARS-Cov-V1, have shown that they can lead to acute and / or delayed neurological complications. At the actual context of the pandemic Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), neurological manifestations seem to be confirmed since in 85% of COVID-19 patients, present neurological symptoms, including anosmia, ageusia, periorbital pain, dizziness, fatigue, even moderate headache, moderate memory and/or behavioral disorders. However, these neurological manifestations are not well studied and their radiological features are not well described. It is therefore important to assess these potential neurological complications in COVID-19 patients. To the investigator knowledge, there is no previous study in the literature describing spectral brain changes in COVID + patients. Thus, the goal of this work is to describe the radiological semiology using MRI and particularly Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic (MRS) biomarkers in the evaluation of acute and / or delayed brain damage in COVID + patients presenting a neurological manifestations that are initially related to the cranial nerves damage.

The Can nebulised HepArin Reduce morTality and time to Extubation in Patients with COVID-19 Requiring mechanical ventilation Meta-Trial (CHARTER-MT) is a prospective collaborative individual patient data analysis of randomised controlled trials and early phase studies. Individual studies are being conducted in multiple countries, including Australia, Ireland, the USA, and the UK. Mechanically ventilated patients with confirmed or strongly suspected SARS-CoV-2 infection, hypoxaemia and an acute pulmonary opacity in at least one lung quadrant on chest X-ray, will be randomised to nebulised heparin 25,000 Units every 6 hours or standard care (open label studies) or placebo (blinded placebo controlled studies) for up to 10 days while mechanically ventilated. All trials will collect a minimum core dataset. The primary outcome for the meta-trial is ventilator-free days during the first 28 days, defined as being alive and free from mechanical ventilation. Individual studies may have additional outcomes.
