Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

Psychological impact of intensive care hospitalization for patients has been demonstrated during the last few years: anxiety, depression and post traumatic stress disorder. Hospitalizations during COVID-19 pandemic have been marked by factors such as confinement forbidding family members visits, stress on intensive care unit ...Those factors may have a psychological impact added to factors of long hospitalization and prolonged mechanical ventilation. For all these reasons the investigators fear that patients hospitalized in intensive care during COVID-19 pandemic develop psychological trouble with an increased risk for those who experienced COVID-19 infection. The hypothesis therapy group added to standard care might have a positive impact on psychological troubles such as anxiety, depression and post traumatic stress disorder for patients who have been hospitalized in intensive care during COVID-19 pandemic. The investigators will compare two groups: - group receiving standard of care - group receiving standard of care and therapy group

In order to prevent reinfection, it is needed to detect the cellular-mediated immune response to the Sars-CoV-2 infection. The first goal of this study will be to detect the cellular-mediated immune response in patients affected by COVID-19 (with or without vaccination) and healthy subjects who undergone vaccination program. The second goal of this study will be to identify the genetic and epigenetic biomarkers that influence individual immunological response and clinical evolution to the severe manifestations of the COVID-19.

During the Corona Virus Pandemic health care resources have become scare, and the pandemic has brought forth the need for risk stratification of patients suffering from COVID19 in order to allocate resources appropriately. One of scarcest resources is Intensive Care treatment, mostly related to the need for invasive ventilation or for (post) cardiac arrest care. To identify patients for whom ICU-treatment is most successful and those for whom it would be futile, would allow for installing appropriate advanced care directives for escalation or limitation of treatment.

In this trial, we are evaluating the safety and tolerability of a new investigational DNA vaccine to protect against SARS CoV-2 virus, called COVIGEN, that is developed by a company called BioNet-Asia. A device will be used to inject the vaccine that does not require the use of a needle (needle-free injection made by a company called Pharmajet). For delivery into the skin (intradermally) a device called "Tropis" will be used, and for delivery into the muscle (intramuscularly) a device called "Stratis" will be used. This is a 2 part study In Part A vaccine naive participants will be given 2 vaccinations, either two active vaccines or two placebo vaccines on Day 1 and Day 29. COVIGEN C19 vaccine will be used in Part A In Part B participants who have previously received a 2-dose primary COVID vaccine schedule will be given a booster dose of active vaccine. COVIGEN C20 vaccine will be used in Part B. Participants in part A and B will be followed up using a combination of on-site and telephone visits for assessment of safety and immunogenicity for 12 months from 1st vaccination.

This early phase I trial identifies the feasibility, possible benefits and/or side effects of administering SARS-CoV-2 specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) in treating cancer patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, the virus responsible for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). SARS-CoV-2 Specific CTLs are a type of immune cells that are made from donated blood cells grown in the laboratory and are designed to kill cells infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus. Giving CTLs may help control the COVID-19 in cancer patients.

Background: Conventional face-to-face in-hospital mobility program (MP) is challenging for COVID-19 patients because of its associated risk of infection to hospital staff, staffing shortages as well as indirect risk of exposure to other hospitalized patients. Exergames are digital or web-based games that use body movement to promote physical activity and generally involve strength, balance, and flexibility exercises. The tele-exergame MP, developed by the team, uses a remotely supervised and game-based approach, which helps to increase patient motivation and engagement in a cognitively demanding exercise program. Objectives: To demonstrate the feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness of the Tele-Exergame mobility program in COVID-19 or PUI (persons under investigation), during hospitalization and examine post-hospitalization outcomes. Research Design: Prospective randomized

The proposed study will investigate respiratory aerosols in SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus 2) positive and negative children and adults with the Resp-Aer-Meter (Palas GmbH). For this purpose, first, the measurement of respiratory aerosols (particle sizes and concentration) with the Resp-Aer-Meter will be established. Thereafter, a comparison between polymerase chain reaction (PCR) SARS-CoV-2 positive and negative participants (children and adults) will be conducted. In addition to the measurement of aerosols, the clinical symptoms, lung function (FEV1) and laboratory inflammatory markers will be analyzed.
