Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

Hypoxemic acute respiratory failure is one of the main COVID-19 patients complication that lead to in intensive care hospitalization. This complication determines a variable mortality from 25 to 30%. To correct hypoxemia (often severe) is often needed non-invasive or invasive mechanical ventilation. Mechanical ventilation is not a therapeutic strategy, but it allows to extend the time-to-recovery necessary to solve COVID-19 respiratory failure cause. Calibration of ventilatory support is essential to ensure adequate time-to-recovery without contributing to onset lung and / or diaphragmatic damage. Basal diaphragmatic activity assessment, device for administering the oxygenation support choice and setting ventilatory support parameters are decisive. Ultrasound is the best method for measuring diaphragmatic work. The aim of this study is to evaluate the diaphragmatic thickening fraction in COVID-19 patients admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for acute respiratory failure and to record its function on weaning.

This is a Phase I study that randomized, double-blind, Placebo-controlled, Parallel Group, Single Ascending Dose Study to evaluate Safety, Tolerability and Pharmacokinetics of CT-P63 in Healthy Subjects.
Western University
In this study the Investigators aim to deploy UTE and HP 129Xe MRI for structural and functional evaluation of persistent lung abnormalities in COVID-19 survivors.

To explore the efficacy of treatment of pulmonary cytokine storm induced by SARS-CoV2 with a monoclonal antibody to IL-2 (Basiliximab) in addition to current standard of care vs current standard of care with the primary efficacy endpoint being the proportion of subjects alive and free of ventilator support, defined as intubation and requiring mechanical ventilation, at Day 28 from time of randomization.

Primary Objectives: Part 1 (Dose Escalation) - To determine the MTD/maximum administered dose (MAD) of SAR443216 administered as a single agent in participants with HER2 expressing solid tumors and determine the RP2D for intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SC) administration in the dose escalation part. - To determine the safety of SAR443216 after intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SC) administration. Part 2 (Dose expansion) • To assess preliminary clinical activity of single agent SAR4443216 at the RP2D in participants with HER2 expressing solid tumors, with various levels of HER2 expression. Secondary Objectives: Part 1 • To assess preliminary clinical activity of single agent SAR443216 after IV and SC administration at the R2PD in participants with HER2 expressing solid tumors, with various levels of HER2 expression. Part 2 • To determine the safety of SAR443216. Part 1 and 2 - To characterize the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of SAR443216 when administered as a single agent after IV and SC (Part 1 only) administration. - To evaluate the immunogenicity of SAR443216 after IV and SC administration. - To assess preliminary clinical activity of single agent SAR443216 at the R2PD in participants with HER2 expressing solid tumors, with various levels of HER2 expression.

The primary hypothesis to be tested is whether or not there is a difference in time to sustained alleviation of all targeted COVID-19 signs and symptoms through Day 28 between PF-07321332/ritonavir and placebo.

This is a phase 1, placebo-controlled, blinded, randomized, dose escalation study of PBI-0451 in healthy subjects. PBI-0451 is a new chemical entity and inhibitor of the main protease of coronaviruses, including the SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 disease. The study is designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of PBI-0451 after single and multiple ascending doses and also to explore drug-drug interaction potential of PBI-0451.
