The syndrome characterized by the persistence of symptoms typical of COVID-19, beyond 4 weeks after discharge, is called long COVID. Long COVID affects a high percentage of patients who have suffered from COVID-19, regardless of its severity. The various symptoms present in that patients affect the functionality and physical, mental and psychological capacities of patients. Therefore, it is necessary to implement therapeutic programs, based on exercises and techniques of physiotherapy, to help affected people to resume their work, family, social and sports activities; prior to illness. Given the context in which these programs must be developed, telecare is positioned as the most recommended care method to carry out the rehabilitation of these patients. The general objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a cardiorespiratory tele-rehabilitation program in persistent COVID-19 patients. Study participants (n=60) will be randomly assigned to one of two intervention groups. Group 1 will combine breathing exercises with aerobic exercise: walk; and group 2 will perform functional exercises in addition to respiratory physiotherapy with. All participants will be evaluated at the beginning of the intervention, at the end of it.

Recent research has shown that the new SARS-CoV-2 variants reduces the efficacy of the vaccinations and are predominantly more transmissible or infective. A few countries namely Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Turkey have recently started introducing a booster dose following primary two doses of the COVID-19 immunization series. This study aims to identify which booster dose is more effective; taking a booster dose from the same vaccine initially taken or a booster dose from a different vaccine than initially taken.

This is a Ph2a study that consists of a double-blind, intra-patient placebo-controlled treatment period and an open-label uncontrolled treatment period with objective to evaluate the safety, tolerability, PK and preliminary efficacy of PRN473 in up to 40 patients with mild to moderate AD. On Day 1 (Baseline) of the Blinded Period, 2 target lesions with a difference no greater than 1 point in Total Sign Score (TSS) will be randomly assigned to treatment in an intra-patient 1:1 manner, one lesion to PRN473 and the other to matching placebo. Participation will take approximately 13 weeks, including up to a 5-week screening period, a 6-week treatment period, end of study assessments 1 day after last dose, and a safety follow-up phone call 2 weeks after last dose.

Unfortunately, hospital-acquired weakness is highly prevalent among COVID-19 hospitalized patients, who often require prolonged bed-rest or paralytics for an extended period of time in order to maintain oxygenation. Prolonged bed rest has been associated with pronounced loss of muscle mass that can exceed 10% over the 1st week, which leads to functional impairment and complications post-hospital discharge. Physical therapy and in-hospital mobility program may reduce the incident of hospital-acquired weakness, but they are often impractical for COVID-19 patients. In particular, conventional mobility programs are challenging for those who are being treated in an intensive Care Unit. The purpose of this study is to test feasibility and proof-of-concept effectiveness of daily use of lower extremity electrical stimulation (EE) therapy, as a practical solution to address lower extremity muscle deconditioning, to address chronic consequences of COVID-19 including hospital-acquired weakness.

People have had to make a lot of changes to their lives due to the COVID-19 health crisis. Most experts agree that social distancing and other safety measures have taken a toll on people s mental health. Amish and Mennonite communities often have large families. They may have limited access to health care. Their lifestyle is based on interaction and group events rather than technology. So people in Amish and Mennonite communities may experience the pandemic in their own special ways. Objective: To describe the relationship between stress related to the pandemic and self-rated measures of mental health symptoms and distress among Amish and Mennonite people with bipolar disorder and related conditions, and their family members. Eligibility: Adults ages 18 and older who are taking part in the NIMH AMBiGen study (80-M-0083). Design: Participants will be mailed 4 surveys. One survey will ask about depression symptoms. One survey will ask about mania symptoms. One survey will assess a broad range of psychological problems. One survey will assess the impact of COVID-19 on their mental health. They will fill out the surveys 4 times over 24 months. The surveys will not include participants names, just codes. This will help protect privacy. Data collected in 80-M-0083 will be used. This includes data about participants genes, medical conditions, and assessments. Participants will get an 800 number they can call to speak to the research team. They can also write to the team if they prefer. Participants who wish will get referrals for mental health services. Participation will last up to 24 months. There will be an option for recontact in the future.
