Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

One case of maternal-fetal transmission of SARS Cov-2 was published (1). Ig M and Ig G were found at two hours after birth of a new born from a mother COVID-19. Another study on few newborns COVID-19 reported that the SARS-Cov-2 was not transmitted in utero but only after birth. Although there are few data on COVID-19 during pregnancy, according to our national data collections, it appears to be responsible for miscarriages and fetal deaths. There are also intrauterine growth restrictions and an increase of the rate of cesarean sections for maternal indications. Therefore, it is essential to know if there is a maternal viremia which infects the fetus because the consequences in terms of management would be completely different. In fact, the potential intrauterine infection will lead to antenatal monitoring of these patients with an antenatal diagnosis and may be a treatment. Therefore, it seems essential to explore the mode of transmission to the newborn since many newborns have COVID-19 infection The investigators will propose to all pregnant women SARS- Cov-2 positive to perform PCR SARS-Cov-2 tests and /or serology's (IgM and Ig G) on the amniotic fluid, the blood cord and the placenta.

This single arm, multicenter study provides the pertuzumab and trastuzumab fixed-dose combination formulation for subcutaneous injection (PH FDC SC) administered at home by a home health nursing provider for patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive (HER2+) breast cancer who have completed concurrent chemotherapy with pertuzumab (Perjeta) and trastuzumab (Herceptin) by intravenous administration (P+H IV) and are currently receiving or will be receiving maintenance therapy with P+H IV, PH FDC SC, or trastuzumab SC in the clinic. The main objective is to enable continuity of care during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study will enroll approximately 200 patients in the United States. Participants with early or metastatic HER2+ breast cancer will be enrolled in this study. Participants with metastatic HER2+ breast cancer will receive treatment every 3 weeks and continue treatment unless early cessation is necessary due to disease recurrence, disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, participant withdrawal of consent, or per physician's recommendation. Participants with early HER2+ breast cancer will receive PH FDC SC to complete 1 year (up to 18 cycles) of dual blockade, including the P+H IV, PH FDC SC, or trastuzumab SC they received prior to enrolling in this study, unless early cessation is necessary due to disease recurrence, disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, participant withdrawal of consent, or per physician's recommendation. A remote cardiac surveillance substudy will be optional for patients enrolled at select sites. The Sponsor may decide to terminate the study when the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer a risk for this patient population.

The Controlled evaLuation of Angiotensin Receptor Blockers for COVID-19 respIraTorY disease (CLARITY) study is a pragmatic prospective, open-label, randomised controlled trial. CLARITY aims to examine the effectiveness of angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) on improving the outcomes of people who tested positive for COVID-19 disease.

The study hypothesis is that cyclosporine, added to standard treatment of hospitalized patients with COVID19 infection may improve their prognosis.

Pragmatic randomized clinical trial of patients admitted to the hospital with confirmed COVID-19 infection and elevated D-Dimer. Randomization 1:1 - Group 1 will undergo a routine full anticoagulation (oral or parenteral when needed) strategy; and group 2 will receive usual standard of care with prophylactic anticoagulation

The HETHICO study aims to collect retrospectively documented clinical information on patients hospitalized in Veneto Region (Italy) for SARS-COVID-2 infection in 2 types of settings, medical environment (COORTE MED), and intensive / sub-intensive (COORTE ICU), to assess the safety and possible efficacy of the anticoagulant treatments used for thromboprophylaxis, or in preventing thrombotic complications related to hospitalization from COVID-19.

Purpose of Study • The purpose of this study to evaluate, the effectiveness of convalescent plasma in combatting the symptoms and effects of the coronavirus disease, COVID-19. Beyond supportive care, there are no proven treatment options for COVID-19.
Northwell Health
The current Sars-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic has created major changes in how physicians perform routine healthcare for our patients, including elective and non-elective surgical procedures. Beginning on March 16th, 2020 Northwell Health postponed all elective surgeries. As the incidence of COVID-19 cases begins to decrease and hospital volume improves we need to ensure the safety of our patients planning surgical procedures. However, at this time there is a scarcity of data regarding the COVID-19 test conversion rate in surgical patients. Our goal is to determine the COVID-19 test conversion rate in these patients to better guide strategies for restarting surgical care in a large-scale pandemic. Patients will be routinely tested with serology and PCR for COVID-19 24-48 hours prior to their scheduled surgery. Those who provide informed consent will be re-tested 12-16 days after discharge from the hospital to determine any potential nosocomial infection rate. Patients will also answer a few questions during their retest to allow the study team to gauge exposure risk postoperatively after leaving the hospital.

In this randomized controlled clinical trial, defined cases of COVID-19 with mild, moderate, or severe pneumonia (according to the NIH guideline) were treated with conventional treatment regimens (controls) as well as in combination with oral administration of colchicine plus herbal phenolic monoterpene fractions (intervention arm). After randomization, each group received the mentioned treatments and were evaluated for different variables including mortality, hospitalization duration, intensive care unit (ICU) administration ratios as well as laboratory variables such as leukocytes and lymphocytes count. The follow-up period considered as 2 weeks after discharge. The mentioned variables were assessed as before and after receiving the treatment in each group as well as intergroup analysis for comparing both baseline and final values.
