Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

This study will investigate the security and efficacy of a daily low dose of hydroxychloroquine and Bromhexine, in preventing the development of the disease from COVID-19 in Health Care Workers at a National Institute of Health In Mexico City.
Peking Union Medical College Hospital
assess the safety and effectiveness of using low-flow extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(CO2 removal) driving by CVVH machine in the severe NCP patients
Evelo Biosciences, Inc.

Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades
The paediatric population present mild or asymptomatic form of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This study asses the frequency of patients with SARS-CoV2 Antibodies (Ab) (seroprevalence) and the neutralizing typology of those Ab (immunoprotection) in children from 7 days to 18 years of age hospitalized for no more than 4 days and whose clinical status requires blood sample regardless of the symptoms Patients are included on a given day, after information, before blood sampling performed as part of the care. 500 µL of sera, normally discarded will be kept to perform SARS-Cov2 serology.
Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals, Ltd.
The purpose of this prospective, Phase 2, multicenter, blinded, randomized placebo controlled study is to demonstrate that early treatment with mavrilimumab prevents progression of respiratory failure in patients with severe COVID-19 pneumonia and clinical and biological features of hyper-inflammation.
The University of Queensland
This study is being conducted to look at the safety and immune response (how the immune system of the human body reacts) to a vaccine for SARS-CoV-2 (the virus responsible for COVID-19 infection) when administered as an intramuscular injection (an injection directly into the muscle) to the upper arm of healthy participants, on two occasions at least 28 days apart.

The coronavirus outbreak has adversely affected individuals in the community, as in the rest of the world. However, in order to carry out this epidemic period in a healthy and conscious manner, determining the anxiety levels of individuals in the society and supporting them psychologically is of great importance. In order to achieve this, healthcare professionals working clinically or academically have important duties. This study was planned to test its validity and reliability in order to adapt the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale to Turkish.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease - COVID-19 pandemic, most attention has focused on mode of transmission, clinical picture of the disease, treatment and prevention. In the coming weeks and months emphasis will gradually involve the post- acute care of COVID-19 survivors. It is anticipated that COVID-19 may have major impact on physical, cognitive, mental, social health status even in patients with mild disease. Moreover, pulmonary, radiologic, laboratory, sleep issues remain to be addressed

The cytokine storms mediated by over production of proinflammatory cytokines have been observed in a large population of critically ill patients infected with COVID-19. Patients diagnosed with cytokine storms progress to cardiovascular collapse, multiple organ dysfunction and death rapidly. Therefore, early identification, treatment and prevention of the cytokine storms are of crucial importance for the patients. Immuomedulator such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) antagonist, emerged as an alternative treatment for COVID-19 patients with a risk of cytokine storms recently. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of anti-IL6 alone vs anti-IL6 corticosteroid combination in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia

Disulfiram (DSF) a safe, easily dosed, FDA-approved drug for the treatment of alcohol dependence has been identified to be a potential therapeutic target for SARS-CoV-2 infection. Disulfiram may have both antiviral (inhibiting viral replication via blocking the Mpro protease and zinc ejection) and anti-inflammatory effects (via inhibition of NF-kB-induced and NLRP inflammasome-induced cytokine release) on SARS-CoV-2. We will study oral disulfiram given for 5 consecutive days (1000 mg/day in cohort 1; 2000 mg/day in cohort 2) in 60 symptomatic COVID+ individuals in a randomized (2:1) randomized, double blind placebo-controlled trial evaluating disulfiram's effect on COVID-19 symptom severity, SARS-CoV-2 viral load, and biomarkers of inflammation and pyroptosis (aberrant pro-inflammatory cell death) over 31 days.
