Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

The investigators will analyze the presence of antibodies against SARS-COV2 in physicians working in emergency and intensive care medicine and in those who treat Covid 19 patients.
Johns Hopkins University
The investigators aim to deliver a tele-wellness supported app to Baltimore City's Family Child Care Home (FCCH) providers who are caring for children of Essential Personnel. Once a pre-survey is conducted, login information will be assigned to 30 Family Child Care Home providers and parents the FCCH serve. Providers and Parents will receive self-care and parenting/parent engagement support through the app and through a tele-wellness service, Ask a Nurse, provided by community health nurses at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Children will have access to gamified learning materials in early literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and nutrition.

The primary objective of the study is to determine whether, at 21 days, care homes that implemented near-patient daily testing have a lower rate of confirmed CoV-2 infections than care homes following the DHSC standard of care testing of symptomatic residents.

This pilot study aims to investigate the feasibility of using Hexoskin cardiorespiratory and activity data, as well as patient symptomatology, to provide an AI model for disease progression that will be at the service of the clinical team to recommend the best customized and evolving care trajectory for each patient.

The research aims to determine the impact of a syndromic mutiplex PCR assay (FilmArray) on the management of patients hospitalized in ICU for severe respiratory disease. During the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak, the diagnosis of pneumonia has become considerably more complex as the biological, radiological and clinical criteria of covid-19 interfere with the standard criteria for the diagnosis of severe respiratory diseases. Moreover, patients with COVID-19 are at higher risk of developing other associated infections and thus, patients have therefore often been treated with antibiotics, adequately or not, due to difficulty to quickly identify the etiology of their symptoms with conventional methods. In order to improve their treatment, both diagnostic and therapeutic, we set up a new syndromic molecular test in our laboratories to accelerate and improve the pneumonia management and antibiotic stewardship. This research will include 100 to 150 adult patients hospitalized in ICU during the first half of 2020. It will take place within the Nancy University Hospital and the Reims University Hospital, France.

The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of Manremyc® food supplement for reduce the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in a high risk population, as healthcare workers.
Federal Research Clinical Center of Federal Medical & Biological Agency, Russia
The study is devoted to the comparative analysis of the data received in patients with COVID-19 lung pathology using the method of probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy of distal airways and two reference methods: high resolution computed tomography and morphology (in some patients).
Institute of Clinical Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry, Department of Internal Medicine
A sequential combination of different antibodies test against SARS-CoV-2 is evaluated. The protocol included a rapid test and several ELISA tests within a defined cohort of healthcare workers.

COVID-19 antibodies testing among healthcare workers to evaluate the role of Covid 19Ab testing as screening method for detection of covid 19 infections among laboratory health care workers ,assess the relationship between the infection with Covid 19 and different laboratory categories/area and assessemt of efficiency personal protective equipment (PPE) in different laboratory categories/area.
Salveo Diagnostics
The negative global consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted efforts to develop efficient laboratory testing protocols that can be quickly scaled in a practical way. Traditional phlebotomy requirements for antibody testing (venipuncture) often serve as a barrier to widespread population testing since they typically require dedicated facilities and personnel training. Conversely, antibodies are typically very stable in blood and require very little testing volume, which make antibody tests well suited to be run on samples collected via finger-stick, saliva, or other self-administered collection devices. Salveo Diagnostics is a CLIA/CAP certified clinical laboratory that routinely performs testing for anti-SARS-Cov-2 antibodies. The purposes of this protocol are to 1) assess the feasibility of streamlined sample collection procedures for assessing COVID-related immune status, and 2) to provide a mechanism for securing sequential samples in COVID positive and negative patients to support additional studies (e.g. investigating timing of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody class switching and antibody persistence).
