Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

This study is a randomized controlled trial of an online, evidenced-based intervention (the ENHANCE program) that was modified to address the health and well-being challenges of COVID-19. Eligible participants will be randomized into the ENHANCE or Wait-List Control group over a 12-week period. ENHANCE participants will be introduced, and asked to practice, 10 evidenced-based principles and skills of happiness and well-being. Participants will complete an online survey about their health and well-being at baseline, midway (or 6 weeks), post-assessment (or at the end of the 12-week study), and 3-months following the end of the study.

The aim is to deliver an intervention to promote nurse leadership and decision-making in the hospital setting, by providing them with training for maintaining minimum service delivery standards for hospital infection control with respect to COVID-19; but also other infectious disease burden management.

Both mindfulness meditation and expectancy effects are known to reduce pain intensity, pain unpleasantness and pain catastrophizing, but it is unknown whether and how expectancy effects contribute to the overall effect of mindfulness meditation on these outcomes, especially during significant global events such as the coronavirus pandemic. This study includes four interrelated aims that will probe these effects and interactions.
Forman Christian College, Pakistan
The aim is to deliver a digital health literacy intervention to disadvantaged women to improve their health behaviors with regard to (i) hygiene and sanitation, and (ii) coronavirus awareness and prevention in four provinces of Pakistan through women community health workers.

One hundred patients hospitalized and in need of oxygen treatment due to Covid-19 should be randomized and 50% treated with 200 ml convalescent plasma x 3 and 50% given ordinary treatment. Primary outcome is number of days the patients need oxygen within 28 days from inclusion. Secondary outcome is number of days in hospital, number of days in respirator and mortality. Side effects of treatment is monitored.
The Research Council of Norway
The study 'Survival rates and long-term outcomes for patients with COVID-19 admitted to Norwegian ICUs' is a national observational study, including patients admitted to a Norwegian ICU between March 2020 and March 2021. The study will describe survival rates, clinical characteristics and health challenges experienced by survivors the first year after ICU admission caused by COVID-19 disease.

This study is to analyse the efficacy of LD-RT for treatment of Severe-Acute-Respiratory-Syndrome-Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2).
Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC
The overall goal of this study is to understand the immune response (IgG) to SARS-CoV-2 to fill critical knowledge gaps in the natural history of this virus and to inform the development of future infection mitigation efforts. The study team aims to assess the prevalence of circulating IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 and the factors associated with sero-prevalence. These data will be used to estimate the total population that has been exposed to the virus (asymptomatic and symptomatic), the proportion of the population that may be protected by natural immunity, and the proportion that is susceptible. Data obtained from this research will be shared with the Florida Department of Health.

This is a double blind randomized placebo controlled study will be conducted on 124 subjects, 50 years and older with mild or asymptomatic COVID-19. If symptomatic, symptoms are mild (cough, weakness, sore throat, low grade fever 38.50С, respiratory rate should not be more than 22 / min, resting SpO2 >95%, normal highly sensitive C-reactive protein (HS-CRP) (

Preterm labor (PL) is the leading cause of hospitalization during pregnancy and premature birth the leading cause of fetal morbidity and mortality in France. PL is defined by regular and painful uterine contractions associated with a change in the cervix, between 22 and 36 weeks of gestation. It has been shown that the risk of spontaneous prematurity increases particularly in case of working over 40 hours per week, hard physically conditions, or prolonged daily transport time. Rest is one of the most efficient measure to prevent PL and should be proposed to all pregnant women, and combined with other therapies such as tocolysis or cerclage when needed. The very particular period of lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic had pregnant women to drastically reduce their activity. They suspended their work and stayed home for various reasons such as pregnancy in progress, children at home, and also collective reasons such as teleworking or workplace closure. During the lockdown period from March 17th to May 11th 2020, fewer preterm labor and less spontaneous prematurity have been suspected by the neonatology and obstetrics teams throughout the Lorraine region. Our study aims to objectively confirm this observation. In this investigation we aim to find a relationship between lockdown, PL and spontaneous prematurity which would need to re-evaluate public health recommendations for pregnant women outside the lockdown.
