Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

The objective of this project is to investigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on frontline healthcare workers, and determine if a virtual music therapy can improve mood and emotional state in this population. For this pilot study, EEG will also be used to assess measures of functional connectivity, attention, and mood in adult participants. Participants will also be evaluated for measures of emotion using a standardized test battery (NIH toolbox). This pilot study will show how frontline healthcare workers have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and provide evidence as to the effectiveness of Music Therapy to support mental health in this essential population.

This proposal seeks to enhance acceptability and uptake of COVID-19 testing and vaccination to engage African American and Latinx public housing residents in South Los Angeles. Given the multiple disparities experienced by public housing residents, the investigators will utilize a theoretically-based, multidisciplinary and culturally tailored intervention to reduce barriers and implement innovate strategies to engage this population in the uptake of COVID-19 testing and vaccination.

The study consists in a pragmatic superiority randomized controlled trial comparing different strategies of psychotherapy for professionals and students from essential services with high levels of emotional distress during the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. Therapeutic strategies to be evaluated are Brief Cognitive Behavioral Telepsychotherapy, Brief Interpersonal Telepsychotherapy and Telepsychoeducation, as an active control. Note: This study was approved by the Ethics and Research Committee of the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre and is originally registered at Plataforma Brasil, a Brazilian study registration platform (under CAAE: 30608420.5.0000.5327). Recruitment began in May 28th 2020.

This Randomized Control Trial (RCT) proposes combination of extracorporeal cytokine removal by plasma exchange (PLEX) and additional infusion of convalescent plasma (CCP) collected from COVID-19 recovered individuals at the end of the PLEX procedure. The combination of cytokine removal by PLEX and CCP infusion is in onvestigators opinion more rational compared to CCP infusion alone and as such probably more effective in reducing the duration of mechanical ventilation, length of stay in the intensive care unit, and potentially also mortality.

A pragmatic superiority randomized controlled trial comparing Telepsychoeducation plus personalized videos vs. Telepsychoeducation without personalized videos for the prevention of future emotional distress in professionals and students from essential services with low to moderate levels of emotional distress in Brazil. Note: This study was approved by the Ethics and Research Committee of the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre and is originally registered at Plataforma Brasil, a Brazilian study registration platform (under CAAE: 30608420.5.0000.5327). This is a multicenter, randomized, open-label, controlled trial to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Rhea Health Tone® as add-on therapy in hospitalized adults with COVID-19. The study is a multi-center trial that will be conducted in up to approximately 2 sites nationally. New sites may be added as needed after appropriate assessment. Interim monitoring will be conducted to evaluate the arms and for safety and effectiveness. Any change would be accompanied by updated sample size. Subjects will be assessed while hospitalized. All subjects will undergo a series of laboratory (inflammatory biomarkers (IL-6, hs-CRP, IFNγ), SGOT, SGPT and Creatinine, conversion rate by PCR, QTc prolongation by ECG, chest X-ray), clinical (clinical assessment, vital sign, concomitant medication, other medical conditions) and safety assessment (serious adverse event). Randomization will be performed 1:1 for each arm. Arm 1 = Standard of Care (SoC) alone, arm 2 = SoC + Rhea Health Tone®.

The objective of this trial is to evaluate the effect of the consumption of a probiotic strain on the incidence and severity of COVID-19 in elderly population living in a nursing home. In addition, it will be evaluated if the probiotic strain have some effect on the immune response generated by the Covid-19 vaccine inthis population.
