Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

To develop practical and effective clinical diagnosis and treatment schemes for the control of novel coronavirus pneumonia.
Third Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-Sen University
Outbreak of 2019 Novel Coronavirus infection started in Wuhan and quickly spread to the world. Suspected patients were isolated and treated in our department. Clinical data was recorded to investigate the clinical features of patients confirmed and excluded diagnosed of 2019 Novel Coronavirus infection.

This study evaluates a brand-new cell phone-based auto-diagnosis system, which is based on the clinical guidelines, clinical experience, and statistic training model. We will achieve secure and 1st hand data from physicians in Wuhan, which including 150 cases in the training cohort and 300 cases in the validation cohort.

There was an interaction between mortality, nutritional intake and the Nutrition Risk in Critically ill (NUTRIC) score suggesting that those with higher NUTRIC scores benefited the most from increasing nutritional intake. Yet limited data were in Chinese patients. The current outbreak of novel coronavirus, named COVID-19, was first reported from Wuhan, China on Dec ember 31 , 2019. There are about 16% patients need ICU admission. The objective of this study is to validation of the "NUTRIC" nutritional risk assessment tool in Chinese ICU patients diagnosed as COVID-19.

Sepsis, including viral infections, are major causes of death worldwide. Studies show that in 2017, the number of sepsis patients worldwide reached as high as 48.9 million, of which 11 million patients died. Studies in China also showed that more than 1 million patients died of sepsis in 2015. Previous studies have suggested that sepsis are often secondary to excessive inflammatory response syndrome. However, treatment measures targeting excessive inflammatory response failed to effectively improve the prognosis of patients. PD-1 and PD-L1 are key mediators in T cell depletion in sepsis patients. Therefore, the investigators try to performe a clinical research to investigate the efficacy of PD-1 and thymosin in patients with severe pneumonia associated with lymphocytopenia in 2019 novel coronavirus infection.

In this single-center, randomized, open-label, controlled study, the investigators will evaluate the efficacy and safety of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) in combination with standard care for severe 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) pneumonia.

The purpose of this pilot study is to assess the feasibility of implementing a home blood pressure self-management program in a population of recent stroke survivors in the Washington, D.C. area. The investigators hypothesize that hypertensive stroke survivors in the Washington, DC area who participate in the Home Blood Pressure Monitoring program will have a greater reduction in mean systolic blood pressure (SBP) from baseline to 3 months, as measured by automated office blood pressure (AOBP), as compared to usual care.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of patients to be treated in rehabilitation increased . Hospitalization for severe infection can induce muscular atrophy and muscular dysfunction that persists for several months and rehabilitation capacities may be exceeded. Exercises in eccentric mode could be performed, inducing greater muscular hypertrophy, muscle strength, power and speed than concentric exercises. The goal of this study was to compare functional recovery at 2 months after a training program in eccentric and concentric mode after severe COVID-19. An effective rehabilitation could help reduce costs and duration of care.

The Investigators want to examine patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 for the phenomenon "Silent Hypoxia", which is clinically significant hypoxia without corresponding degree of dyspnea. The patient population is infected individuals without any serious symptoms and is at home. The participants will be equipped with a pulse oximeter and a PEF-measurement device. Four times daily the participants will register saturation, degree of dyspnea and PEF. If the participants experience desaturation or increasing dyspnea, physiotherapy is to be performed, and if that doesn't relieve symptoms or increase oxygen saturation, the hospital should be contacted for admission. The first part of this study is a feasibility study, and if found feasible, the investigators will expand the study to more participants.

In early 2020 there were no approved anti-viral treatments for COVID19 Infection. The SOLIDARITY trial is a multicentre adaptive international randomised trial sponsored by Word Health Organization to determine the efficacy of Remdesivir (daily infusion for 10 days), or Acalabrutinib (orally twice daily for 10 days), or Interferon β1a(daily injection for 6 days) compared with local standard of care in patients admitted to hospital for COVID19 infection on all-cause mortality, stratified by severity of disease at the time of randomisation. The major secondary outcomes are duration of hospital stay and time to first receiving ventilation (or intensive care).
