Since the emergence of the new strain of betacoronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and its important clinical repercussions, it has been described that patients with its associated pneumonia (COVID-19) have high rates of thrombotic events, including reduction in the dialyzers patency when undergoing renal replacement therapy. Several strategies for preventing the early loss of dialysers are described, and regional anticoagulation based on citrate is the preferred modality for preventing this complication. On the other hand, in patients with SARS-CoV-2 there are already descriptions of endothelial inflammation and activation of the coagulation cascade, including studies demonstrating the benefit of heparinization of these patients. Thus, this study aims to compare two different anticoagulation strategies in patients infected with COVID-19 with continued venovenous hemodialysis (CVVHD). From the indication of CVVHD, patients will be screened according to eligibility criteria and, if they fit these parameters, they will be randomized into two groups: Group A - Standard regional anticoagulation based on Citrate associated with infusion of low doses of unfractionated heparin 10ui/kg/hour and Group B - Standard regional anticoagulation based on Citrate only. Patients will be randomized in blocks and followed for 72 hours. The primary endpoint is dialyzer patency at the end of 72 hours of clinical follow-up. Secondary objectives will be mortality, bleeding rate, drop in hematimetric indices, urea sieving, filter time in hours, down time of therapy, system and dialyser pressures (PBE and PTM). All patients will undergo a standard procedure with a prescribed dose of 30mL/Kg/H, blood flow of 150mL/minute and polysulfone dialyzer.

This eventuality is being observed massively among professionals from different groups and levels of responsibility. In the case of healthcare personnel, it should be added that the care of non-COVID19 patients (of all pathologies and conditions) is clearly compromised and it is up to the professionals as a whole to make critical decisions and exercise a professional practice that is radically different from what has usually been done, which may require the application of undesirable triage criteria that are difficult for everyone to assume. Healthcare professionals and other essential personnel for healthcare and social-healthcare work (including personnel from external companies) are being subjected to emotional tensions and extraordinary, high-intensity work demands. Without professionals who feel supported and with moral strength, care will be even more compromised. The current scenario makes us think of many critical situations that are occurring as a result of the overload experienced. While the physical risk (e.g. pneumonia, respiratory breakdown) is getting the most scientific and clinical attention, this outbreak also has significant mental health risks and extreme psychological fear-related responses. Among the general population, there are high-risk groups as elderly people, disabled individuals and people with previous exposure to trauma (e.g., people with military experience). Veterans are among the subgroups who are high risk for PTSD and other mental health problem. The overarching goal of this study is to examine the efficacy of an online, largescale, brief video-based intervention in reducing fear and stress and improving help seeking behavior in relate to COVID-19.

The current study will examine the impact of frequent social interaction through communication technologies during COVID-19 pandemic in the cognitive status of socially-isolated older adults with and without cognitive impairment. Patients will take place in an experimental crossover study, participants will complete one month of an intervention and one month of as passive control. The goal of this study is to determine: A.) if frequent social interaction through ICT during COVID-19 pandemic will have a significant positive impact in cognitive performance on testing, and B.) how social isolation and cognitive status influence misconceptions around the current pandemic.
