Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

Non-invasive ventilation can allow to avoid intubation and improve outcomes in moderate-to-severe COVID-19-associated acute respiratory distress-syndrome (ARDS). Data on NIV parameters adjustment based on expanded respiratory and gas exchange monitoring in COVID-19 associated ARDS is limited. Appropriate adjustment of the inspiratory positive airway pressure (IPAP) set as a point of the balance between minimal work of breathing (minimum point of W.Patrick scale for assessment of the accessory respiratory muscles and minimum diaphragm thickening fraction) and minimum tidal volume, and respiratory rate can decrease NIV failure in moderate-to-severe COVID-ARDS. The objective of the study is to evaluate the ability of non-invasive ventilation guided with expanded respiratory monitoring to decrease the intubation rate in in moderate-to-severe COVID-ARDS.
NMC Specialty Hospital
The investigators aim to develop expert consensus statements on infection control management of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in intensive care units (ICU).
National Eye Institute (NEI)
Background: Some people who have had COVID-19 experience changes in the eye. Sometimes these changes are subtle and may not affect vision. Researchers want to learn how many people experience these eye changes and where in the eye they occur to better understand the outcomes of COVID-19 and its treatments. Objective: To examine possible changes in the eye that might have occurred as a result of COVID-19. Eligibility: Adults age 18 and older who were diagnosed with COVID-19 and recovered. Design: Participants will be screened with a medical history and physical exam. They will have blood tests. Participants will have an eye exam. Their pupils will be dilated with eye drops. Eye pressure and movements will be measured. Participants will have optical coherence tomography. Pictures will be taken of the retina and the inside of the eyes. Participants may have fluorescein angiography and indocyanine green angiography. They will be given a dye through an intravenous line. The dye will travel up to the blood vessels in their eyes. Pictures will be taken of the dye as it flows through the blood vessels. Participants may have electroretinography to test the retina. They will sit in the dark with their eyes patched for 30 minutes. Then they will watch flashing lights while wearing contact lenses that sense signals from the retina. Participants may have adaptive optics-assisted imaging. They will look at a specific location while images are taken of the retina. During the study, participants will have blood drawn through a needle in their arm. Fluid or tissue from the eye may be obtained if participants have a medically needed procedure. Participation will last for 12 months.
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
The primary objective of the study is to assess the virologic efficacy of REGN10933+REGN10987 across different intravenous and subcutaneous doses compared to placebo. The secondary objectives of the study are: - To evaluate additional indicators of virologic efficacy of REGN10933+REGN10987 compared to placebo - To evaluate the safety and tolerability of REGN10933+REGN10987 compared to placebo - To assess the concentrations of REGN10933 and REGN10987 in serum over time - To assess the immunogenicity of REGN10933 and REGN10987
Nanomix
Prospective samples will be collected to evaluate the agreement between a EUA RT-PCR test as the comparator method against the Nanomix eLab® system.

This single-center, open-label, 2 arm parallel-group, randomized, interventional prospective exploratory study in 20 subjects aimed to evaluate safety and explore putative clinical benefits of Silmitasertib 1000 mg BID dose in patients with moderate COVID-19. Two-arm trial comparing the SOC/supportive care alone to the SOC/supportive care with addition of Silmitasertib (allocation ratio 1:1).

REMED is a prospective, phase II, open-label, randomised controlled trial testing superiority of dexamethasone 20 mg vs 6 mg. The trial aims to be pragmatic, i.e. designed to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention in conditions that are close to real-life routine clinical practice. The study is multi-centre and will be conducted in the intensive care units (ICUs) of ten university hospitals in the Czech Republic. This is an open-label trial in which the participants and the study staff will be aware of the allocated intervention. Blinded pre-planned statistical analysis will be performed.
National Institute on Aging (NIA)
The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility (safety, adherence) and initial efficacy (physical function and patient reported outcomes) of a multicomponent tele-rehabilitation program during COVID-19 recovery of patients who have been hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Unlike other respiratory viruses such as influenza and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) where the child is the essential reservoir and central vector of intrafamilial contamination, the child is likely to be a small player in the transmission of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus 2 (SRAS-CoV2) infection. This study aims to describe the age category of the first contact, within 14 days before the appearance of the first symptoms of the index case in order to describe the age categories of this first contaminant, globally, in the group of children and finally in the group of adults. This work is intended to provide food for discussion and to justify the distancing and containment measures imposed on children when their isolation has a deleterious impact that has now been established for some children.
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
The purpose of this study is to test over time immunity to the COVID-19 vaccines. Adults who are receiving COVID-19 vaccines will be invited to participate.
