SOLIDARITY Finland Long-COVID trial assesses the effects of remdesivir + standard of care (SoC) vs. only SoC on long-COVID symptoms and quality of life (QoL) using questionnaires at one and two years post-discharge. Objectives i) Long-COVID symptoms - To investigate the effect of remdesivir (vs. SoC) on the occurrence of symptoms that have been associated with the long-COVID syndrome. The questionnaires will take place 1 and 2 years after the hospital admission. - The symptom questionnaire - that will be completed by patients at one and two years - measures basic patient information (age, height, weight, smoking status, major comorbidity, and working status) and a wide variety of potential long-COVID-symptoms and their bother (1. Fatigue; 2. Attention deficits; 3. Memory problems; 4. Sleeping difficulties; 5. Depressive mood; 6. Anxiety; 7. Dizziness; 8. Headache; 9. Tinnitus; 10. Paresthesias; 11. Changes in taste/smell perceptions; 12. Postexertional malaise; 13. Palpitations; 14. Chest discomfort; 15. Nausea; 16. Skin rash; 17. Joint aches; 18. Muscle pains; 19. Continuous cough; 20. Respiratory tract mucous discharges) in remdesivir and usual care arms ii) Quality of life - EQ-VAS: to compare patients' quality of life in remdesivir and usual care arms. - EQ-5D-5L questionnaire assesses the following domains: 1. Mobility; 2. Self-care; 3. Usual activities; 4. Pain and discomfort; 5. Anxiety and depression; 6. The VAS of subjective perception of overall health. Additionally (at 1 or 2 years; depending on future funding and ethical approval decisions; currently the study has ethical approval for long-COVID and quality of life assessments only): - The Finnish healthcare registries (Statistics Finland Mortality Database and the HILMO Care Register for Health Care) will be used to estimate long-term mortality and incidence of major comorbidity in remdesivir and usual care arms - Lung function will be assessed using spirometry and diffusing capacity, as well as the six-minute walk test (6 mwt) in remdesivir and usual care arms - Whole-genome genotyping will be performed for a genome-wide association study to investigate genetic correlates of long-COVID-19 -symptoms in remdesivir and usual care arms UPDATE 02.02.2022: Primary outcomes will comprise the following: 1. This is a phase Ⅰ/Ⅱ, single-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, to evaluate the safety, tolerability and immunogenicity of the recombinant COVID-19 vaccine (Sf9 cells) in the subjects from healthy aged 6-17 years with immunization procedures 0, 21, 42 days and doses (10μg/20μg/40μg).

The objective of the COVID-19 International Drug Pregnancy Registry (COVID-PR) is to evaluate obstetric, neonatal, and infant outcomes among women treated with monoclonal antibodies or antiviral drugs indicated for mild, moderate, or severe COVID-19 from the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP) to end of pregnancy. For monoclonal antibodies, the exposure period also includes 90 days prior to the first day of the LMP.

Respiratory viruses pose a permanent threat to humans and society as demonstrated by the current Covid-19 pandemic. Novel drugs and vaccines provide a means for controlling illness. Infections and symptomatic presentation of illness may be reduced, but it remains to be determined to which extent viral shedding and transmission (e.g. by silent transmitters) can be controlled. Lack of such activity may result in continuing viral spread by assumed healthy but asymptomatic spreaders. Echinacea is an established and readily-accessible product with demonstrated in vitro antiviral activity (including coronaviruses). This study aims to estimate the potential of different Echinacea formulations (head-to-head) to reduce concentration infectivity and shedding of SARS-CoV-2 under in vivo conditions.

Gazelle COVID-19 is a fluorescent lateral flow immunoassay and accompanying Reader intended for the qualitative detection of nucleocapsid antigen from SARS-CoV-2 in nasal swab specimens from individuals who are suspected of COVID-19 by their healthcare provider within 5 days of symptom onset. The study will be conducted To obtain data to measure the positive percent agreement and negative percent agreement of the Gazelle COVID-19 Test compared to Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR).The study will assess Gazelle COVID-19 Test performance using dual mid-turbinate nasal swab samples. This study will primarily assess Gazelle COVID-19 Test performance on symptomatic subjects (within five days of onset of symptoms) at point of care (POC). A subset of asymptomatic subjects will be enrolled after the symptomatic subject enrollment is complete.

To expand the access and delivery of COVID-19 Vaccines in Africa (ECOVA), the investigators will conduct a phase 3, individually randomized, observer-blind, controlled (influenza vaccine) trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the BBIBP-CorV vaccine against any severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV- 2) infection among adults 18 years and older. The BBIBP-CorV vaccine is an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (Vero cell) manufactured by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products (BIBP), China National Biotec Group (CNBG), Sinopharm, Beijing, People's Republic of China and received emergency use authorization (EUA) from World Health Organization (WHO).

Richmond Research Institute (RRI) is applying existing and new COVID-19 PCR and antibody tests to help develop methodologies which provide fast and accurate results. Infection with coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is currently a worldwide pandemic and reliable testing for COVID-19 is crucial to understand who is infected and therefore a risk to others by spreading the infection. RRI are currently carrying out the following tests: A. Using a membrane-based immunoassay to detect IgG and IgM antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in whole blood, serum or plasma specimens helps to assess whether an individual has previously had the virus and is potentially immune B. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing using an established method to check for active SARS-CoV-2 infections. C. Quantification of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG and IgM antibodies in whole blood samples. The above tests are being used by RRI to follow infections (PCR) and immunity (IgG) in their workforce, as well as their families (including children) and visitors to their site. Collecting this data allows the gathering of epidemiological data on SARS-CoV-2 including incidence, prevalence, information on asymptomatic carriers and efficacy of vaccination. Furthermore, identifying individuals that are infected with SARS-CoV-2 has great potential to improve health outcomes by allowing infected individuals to seek the correct medical treatment as well as self-isolate and reduce transmission.

This is a pivotal phase III study to evaluate the efficacy of nitazoxanide 600 mg BID compared to placebo to treat hospitalized patients with non-critical COVID-19.
Celltex Therapeutics Corporation
This is a phase 2 multi-center, double-blind, randomized, placebo-control clinical trial with 200 subjects who have never been infected by COVID-19 (SARS-Cov-2 virus screen test negative, no blood SARS-Cov-2 IgM and IgG antibodies detected during enrollment) followed by a pilot study of 5 subjects to demonstrate the safety of proposed three-dose regimen of autologous AdMSCs infusions. The 100 study subjects who have previously banked their AdMSCs with Celltex, will receive three doses of autologous AdMSCs (approximately 200 million cells) intravenous infusion every three days. The 100 subjects in the control group who have previously banked their AdMSCs with Celltex will not receive any Celltex's AdMSC therapy but placebo treatments. All subjects are monitored for safety (adverse events/severe adverse events), COVID-19 symptoms, SARS-Cov-2 virus test, blood SARS-Cov-2 IgM and IgG antibodies tests, blood cytokine and inflammatory (CRP, IL_6, IL-10, TNFα) tests and disease severity evaluation for 6 months after the last dose of AdMSC infusion for the study group and 6 months after the enrollment for the control group.
University of California, Los Angeles
This study will provide access to investigational anti-SARS-CoV-2 human convalescent plasma for pediatric patients with underlying medical conditions (cardiovascular disease, lung disease, immunosuppression) who are either infected with SARS-CoV-2 or who have had a high-risk exposure. Study participants will be transfused once with compatible convalescent plasma obtained from an individual who has recovered from documented infection with SARS-CoV-2. Safety information and pharmacokinetic data will be collected.
