Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

The purpose of the study is to assess safety, tolerability and immunogenicity of the drug "Gam-COVID-Vac ", a solution for intramuscular administration, with the participation of healthy volunteers Study objectives A safety and tolerability assessment of the drug "Gam-COVID-Vac ", solution for intramuscular administration, using single dose of each component (Stage 1). A safety and tolerability assessment of the drug "Gam-COVID-Vac ", solution for intramuscular administration, using prime-boost immunization according to the proposed scheme (Stage 2). Post-vaccination immunity assessment at different time points after vaccination by: - Determination of antigen-specific antibody titer in blood serum by ELISA by comparison with baseline values before the vaccine administration and at days 14, 21, 28, and 42 after vaccination (hereinafter, the countdown comes from the first time of the vaccine administration); - Determination of virus neutralizing antibody titer before and at days 14, 28, and 42 after vaccination; - Determination of antigen-specific cellular immunity (specific T-cell immunity) before the vaccine administration and at days 14 and 28 after vaccination.
Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris
The purpose of this study is to define seroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV2 among children of Hospital Workers in APHP, particularly exposed population, according to parents' SARS-CoV2 serological status.

Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG) is a live attenuated vaccine administered for prevention of tuberculosis. Recently, several groups have hypothesized that BCG may "train" the immune system to respond to a variety of unrelated infections, including viruses and in particular the coronavirus responsible for COVID-19. Trials are currently being conducted in Australia, Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom to evaluate its effectiveness. Front line workers includes members of municipal and provincial police services, emergency medical personnel, firefighters, public transport employees, health service workers and food manufacturing employees. They are at high risk of infection from COVID-19, with potentially high infection rate. The investigators propose an interventional trial to evaluate the effectiveness of BCG vaccination to prevent COVID-19 infection and reduce its severity in front-line employees in Ontario.
Instituto Grifols, S.A.
The purpose of the study is to determine if high dose Intravenous IVIG plus SMT can reduce the proportion of participants dying or requiring intensive care unit (ICU) admission on or before Day 29 or who are dependent on high flow oxygen devices or invasive mechanical ventilation on Day 29 versus SMT alone in hospitalized participants with COVID-19.

Estimation of the prevalence and contagiousness of undocumented novel coronavirus infections is critical for understanding the overall prevalence and pandemic potential of this disease. It is estimated that 86% of all infections were undocumented [95% credible interval (CI): 82-90%] before the 23 January 2020 travel restrictions. The transmission rate of undocumented infections per person was 55% the transmission rate of documented infections (95% CI: 46-62%), yet, because of their greater numbers, undocumented infections were the source of 79% of the documented cases. Ivermectin + Carrageenan, taking advantage of their virucidal effects, are aimed at reducing the contagion.
Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development
This study will assess the safety and immunogenicity of AG0301-COVID19 in healthy adult volunteers.
University of California, Los Angeles
This study will provide access to investigational anti-SARS-CoV-2 human convalescent plasma for pediatric patients with underlying medical conditions (cardiovascular disease, lung disease, immunosuppression) who are either infected with SARS-CoV-2 or who have had a high-risk exposure. Study participants will be transfused once with compatible convalescent plasma obtained from an individual who has recovered from documented infection with SARS-CoV-2. Safety information and pharmacokinetic data will be collected.
AO GENERIUM
It is a multicenter, open-label, randomized, parallel-group study of the efficacy and safety of Tigerase® (GENERIUM JSC, Russia) with standard therapy versus standard therapy in patients with COVID-19.
Emory University
COVID-19 is increasingly affecting children but convalescent plasma (CP) has not been adequately studied in children to date. The study will determine safety of convalescent plasma for pediatric patients with severe, or at high risk for severe, COVID-19 disease.
