Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

Study description: The preset study seeks to investigate factors associated with of hygiene-related behaviors and adherence to viral mitigation protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, factors associated with of adherence to WHO-advised hygiene-related behaviors and adherence to governmental mitigation protocols are investigations. The aim of the project is to: - Inform the policymakers, the general public, scientists, and health practitioners about the cognitive, behavioral, emotional, motivational, and trait components underlying hygiene-related behaviors and adherence. - Help policymakers better understand adherence and the factors it is associated with, providing empirical grounds to advance societies battle against the COVID-19-virus from an epidemiological perspective by promoting factors that increase adherence. Hypothesis/Research questions Hypothesis 1: Risk perception, altruism and governmental trust will significantly be associated with both adherence and hygiene-related behavior, with increased risk perception, altruism, and governmental trust associated with higher rates of adherence and hygiene-related behavior. The personality traits conscientiousness and agreeableness will significantly be associated with both adherence and hygiene related behavior, with increased conscientiousness, and agreeableness associated with higher rates of adherence and hygiene-related behavior. Furthermore, beliefs about pandemic protocol efficacy and beliefs about collective mitigation behavior (i.e., "it is only useful to follow transmission protocols if everyone else does") will be associated with adherence to viral mitigation protocols and hygiene-related behaviors. Research Question 1: Is there a difference between the use of various platforms to obtain information about COVID with regards to adherence to viral mitigation protocols and hygiene-related behaviors? Research Question 2: To what extend are different sources of obtaining information associated with adherence to hygiene-related behavior and adherence to viral mitigation protocols? Research Question 3: To what extent are different personality traits (measured with the Short Big Five Inventory-10 (BFI-10)) associated with adherence to viral mitigation protocols and hygiene-related behaviors?

This phase III trial compares low dose whole lung radiation therapy to best supportive care plus physicians choice in treating patients with COVID-19 infection. Low dose whole lung radiation therapy may work better than the current best supportive care and physician's choice in improving patients' clinical status, the radiographic appearance of their lungs, or their laboratory blood tests.

Low doses of radiation in the form of chest x-rays has been in the past to treat people with pneumonia. This treatment was thought to reduce inflammation and was found to be effective without side effects. However, it was an expensive treatment and was eventually replaced with less expensive treatment options like penicillin. The COVID-19 virus has emerged recently, causing high rates of pneumonia in people. The authors believe that giving a small dose of radiation to the lungs may reduce inflammation and neutralize the pneumonia caused by COVID-19. For this study, the x-ray given is called radiation therapy. Radiation therapy uses high-energy X-ray beams from a large machine to target the lungs and reduce inflammation. Usually, it is given at much higher doses to treat cancers. The purpose of this study is to find out if adding a single treatment of low-dose x-rays to the lungs might reduce the amount of inflammation in the lungs from COVID-19 infection, which could reduce the need for a ventilator or breathing tube.

180 people from the medical staff and high-risk people in Baqiyatallah Hospital, who are in close contact with patients, will enter the study. Participants will be divided into two intervention groups and one control group. The control group will use the full protective equipment assigned to the treatment staff. In addition to protective equipment, the first intervention team will receive a daily diet of 200 mg hydroxychloroquine tablets. The second intervention team, while observing and using the complete protective equipment, will place a thin layer of Mucodentol gel in the vestibular area of the mouth daily, every 6 to 8 hours. At the beginning of the treatment, qualified people will participate in the study while recording demographic and clinical information, PCR test will be performed, and if they have negative PCR, they will be in one of the 3 study groups. During the study, if the symptoms of the disease occur in each of the participants, the test will be taken again. If the test is positive, the person will withdraw from the study, and the patient's information will be recorded. Finally, the people present in the study will be tested for PCR, and the results of the disease and the side effects of the drugs will be compared.

Under the COVID-19, individuals who were home Quarantine experienced new challenges on their parent-child relationship and couple relationship. The current project aimed to provide psychological interventions for both parents and couples in order to improving their relationship. The online intervention of group intervention and individual intervention are going to be conducted. The relationship between parent-child, couples and emotion regulation will be tested.

The vast majority of individuals with Covid19 have mild illness that can be managed in the outpatient setting. A small but significant number of these people will deteriorate and require hospitalization. Symptoms are a poor - and possibly late - indicator for deterioration. While people who have died, and/or been cared for in the ICU or hospital have been well characterized, there remains a dearth of information about the clinical course of people in the outpatient setting. Most notably, it is not known when to escalate to hospital care. The consequence of non-escalation when needed is significant patient morbidity and mortality, of escalation when not needed is unnecessarily overwhelmed hospitals. Technologies for clinical management and early diagnostics for severe Covid19 infection will address this challenge. The research goal of this study is to use real-time remote patient monitoring to detect which patients with Covid19 are at risk of deterioration to bring to hospital, while at the same ensuring the worried will receive reassurance so they stay at home. The clinical goal is to help clinicians provide excellent care using ubiquitous mobile phones.

Our aim is to conduct a pilot single-blind randomized controlled trial to examine the preliminary efficacy of a 14 day app-based pulmonary and mobility focused rehabilitation program (intervention arm) versus a self-guided exercise program (active control arm) on pulmonary and functional outcomes in 100 patients tested for COVID-19 infection and isolated at home.
