Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2. Several recent papers on the pandemic recognized obesity as a risk factor for the COVID-19 infection. Therefore, an effective treatment for obesity even during COVID-19 outbreak is needed. Bariatric surgery, is considered an effective treatment in the reduction of obesity-related comorbidities and mortality risk. However, during Covid-19 phase 1 (lockdown) the near totality of elective non-oncologic procedures, including bariatric surgery, has been postponed, and all the outpatients' visits too. Therefore, phase 1 led to completely change the way of managing the pre-operative multidisciplinary visits considering the hospital limitation access and the restriction. In the present study the investigators explored the use of telemedicine as a possible strategy to face this new situation. Specifically, this study aims to test the efficacy of an online structured protocol based on pre-operative multidisciplinary assessment using telemedicine instruments. In particular, the primary end point is to test the feasibility of a telematics pre-operative work-up. The secondary end points are evaluating patient's compliance and satisfaction to the online assessment.

Hospital staff, on the front line in the COVID-19 crisis, have many questions about the risk that they have been infected with this potentially fatal virus. These questions of course primarily concern caregivers working in sectors dedicated to COVID-19 patients, whether they are resuscitating or not, but also those in non-COVID-19 sectors, or even staff without direct contact with patients. In addition, depending on the suddenness and intensity of this "COVID-19 wave", these personnel have been more or less trained and sometimes exposed due to the dire lack of protective equipment. In some countries such as Great Britain, this has resulted in significant absenteeism, a source of deepening the shortage of caregivers. This proportion of contaminated caregivers has not been evaluated on the whole of French territory. Studies from other countries suggest figures ranging from 1.5% in China to 20% in Italy. It is therefore impossible to rely on such variable data to have a reliable estimate. Since june 2020, all staff in French health establishments could benefit a serological test. Thus, in this epidemiological study, we propose to rely on this institutional serological screening to describe the link between seroconversion of hospital staff, regional intensity of the epidemic, and sectors of activity (COVID-19 sectors, non-COVID-19 caregivers , non-COVID-19 non-caregivers.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in our country, individuals over 65 are prohibited from leaving their homes by T.C. The Ministry of Internal Affairs on March 21, 2020. While social isolation provides protection from COVID-19, it also brings some side effects that pose health risks. Studies investigating the relationship between social isolation and health behavior report that individuals with smaller social networks report less healthy diets, excessive alcohol consumption, and less physical activity. The effects of social isolation are related to physical inactivity, smoking. Physical activity is any body movement produced by the contraction of skeletal muscles that increases energy consumption. 150 minutes of moderate PA, 75 minutes of severe PA per week, or combined moderate and severe intensity PA plus twice a week strength training is recommended for elderly. The prevalence of physical inactivity increases significantly with increasing age. At the global level, approximately 45% of people over the age of 60 do not meet the recommended level of PA. The decrease in physical performance is associated with the risk of falling, sarcopenia, fragility, decreased quality of life, emotionalization, comorbidity, early death, and increased health care costs. The purpose of this study; to evaluate the physical activity level, functional capacity and quality of life of individuals over the age of 65 who socially isolated due to the precautions COVID-19 pandemic, and to investigate the effectiveness of video based home exercise program.

The first person-to-person Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) transmission in Italy was reported on Feb 21st, 2020, causing one of the most massive outbreak in Europe so far that stopped immediately all elective surgical procedures. Bariatric surgery represents the most effective treatment to obtain an important, long-term weight loss and comorbidities' resolution, including respiratory disorders. A sensitive decrease of epidemic has been observed lately and a gradual and progressive stop of the lockdown (phase 2-3) was planned, when the virus is supposed to be under control and protocols are guiding the restart of the elective bariatric surgery. Several questions are currently open: Laparoscopic bariatric surgery is safe in the phase 2-3? What's the expected complications rate? The actual hospital protocols are effective to minimize the risk of postoperative COVID-19 infection? Aim: to analyse results of bariatric surgery during phase 2-3 COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. Primary end point: 30 days COVID-19 infection, mortality and complications. Secondary end points: readmission rate 30 days, reoperations for any reason related to surgery. Study design: prospective multicenter observational. Setting: Italian National Health Service 8 high-volume bariatric centres. Enrollment criteria: No previous Covid-19 infection; Primary, standard IFSO approved bariatric procedures; No concomitant procedure; No previous major abdominal surgery; >18

Currently there is an important need to know the evolution, results and associated mortality of patients undergoing surgical intervention in Spain during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. With a national data collection, information could be obtained to guide the management of this group of complex patients operated on during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of improving their treatment in the event of a second wave. The great spread of the virus and the difficulty in controlling it over time makes it a high priority for the scientific community in order to face new outbreaks. The national study "AEC COVID-19" is a collaborative study (in the style of those carried out at European level such as Eurosurg, Globalsurg, etc.) that aims to know the evolution, results and associated mortality of patients undergoing surgical intervention in Spain during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. It is an observational study, with anonymized and coded data, which aims to demonstrate the following hypotheses: - Patients with COVID-19 have high mortality. - Patients with both oncological and benign pathologies have high morbidity. The situation / follow-up at 7 days and 30 days after the intervention will be included in each patient.

The analysis method described in this protocol is a novel simple plausible immunological approach which is non-invasive, high throughput, real-time quantitative monitoring of metabolic activity (MA) profiles of fresh Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMC) in response to various reagents at different concentrations. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the T cells reactivity to SARS COV 2 immunogenic selected peptides by Metabolic Activity Method in convalesce and healthy individuals and to compare it with Antibody response (ELISA) and clinical information
