Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.

There is no prophylaxis for people at high risk of developing COVID-19. It is one of the first clinical studies aiming to investigate the effect of Anatolian Propolis against COVID-19. This study will test whether Anatolian propolis can be used to prevent the development of COVID-19 in people at risk of COVID-19. If Anatolian Propolis has been shown to reduce the risk of developing COVID-19 in people at high risk of infection, this could help reduce the morbidity and mortality of the COVID-19 outbreak. This study will be done in 2 centers. These centers are planned as Atatürk University Medical Faculty Emergency Medicine Clinic and Rize Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Emergency Medicine Clinic. This work will be done entirely on a voluntary basis. The research subject will be explained to the healthcare professionals (doctor, nurse, medical secretary) working in both emergency medicine clinics and voluntary participation forms will be signed by the healthcare professionals who agree to participate in the study. Health workers who agree to participate in the study will be accepted as the study group, and healthcare professionals who do not agree to participate in the study will be accepted as the control group. The study group will be asked to take 20 drops of Propolis drop form twice a day in the morning / evening and the control group will not receive any treatment and both groups will be followed. In this process, patients diagnosed with COVID-19 will be determined. The study will cover a period of 1 month and at the end of 1 month, patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in the study and control groups will be compared. Thus, the protective properties of Anatolian propolis will be determined.

Traditional Chinese medicine is regarded as a dietary supplement in many countries around the world. Dietary supplement, NRICM101, has been available for people who diagnosed, suspected or prevented for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in September 2020. It is expected to help people not to progress to severe illness, and reduce lung damage and mortality. The investigators gather the effects of people who taking NRICM101 using the Real-World Big Data Study and the network feedback information collection model. This study can be used as a reference for global prevention and control of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is posing a serious challenge to the health-care systems worldwide, with an enormous impact on health conditions and loss of lives. More than 30 millions of recoveries worldwide were registered at the end of October 2020 with more than 1 million of deaths. As the disease continues to spread, strategies aimed to reduce hospitalization time in sub intensive unit care, thus reducing pressure on health system, but also to reduce some of the pathological features of COVID-19 such as inflammation and the "cytokines storm". The ketogenic diet is a high fat, low carbohydrate, adequate-protein diet that promotes a physiological ketosis (due to an increase of liver ketone bodies production). High fat, low carbohydrate diets have been shown to reduce duration of ventilator support and partial pressure carbon dioxide in patients with acute respiratory failure. Moreover, the physiological increase in plasma levels of ketone bodies exerts important anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating effects, which may reveal as precious tools to reduce potential adverse outcomes of COVID-19 disease. The hypothesis of this study is that the administration of a ketogenic diet will improve gas exchange, reduce inflammation, and the duration of hospitalization. The plan is to enrol 28 patients with diagnosis of COVID-19 hospitalized but not in ICU with SPO2 higher than 88%.

We will conduct a double arm, randomized, double-blinded placebo controlled trial of oxaloacetate for treatment of fatigue in women with a history of COVID-19 infection, resolution of the infection, and remaining fatigue that interfere with everyday activities, based on use of a standardized questionnaire to screen for impairment. Participants will receive a 6-week supply of the active or placebo and will be asked to take one capsule twice a day with water and food. They will be contacted weekly for two weeks by the study coordinator to assess for any side effects or difficulty taking the medication. They will be asked to again to complete the standardized questionnaire to screen for impairment after 2 weeks, and again at the end of the study at 6 weeks. Finally, any adverse reactions and symptoms will be evaluated once again four weeks later to ensure that any symptoms that may have been present during treatment have resolved.

This study is intended to address the association between vitamin D status and seroconversion to SARS-CoV-2 in healthy young adults. The primary aim of the study is to determine the rates of 'silent' seroconversion rates, consistent with asymptomatic transmission of SARS-CoV-2, in a young healthy adult population with a wide spread of vitamin D concentrations. The secondary aims of this study are to explore: 1. Any effect of vitamin D status on symptomatic illness. 2. The background 'point' prevalence and subsequent rate of increase in seropositivity for SARS-CoV-2 in healthy young adults. 3. The individual reductions in seropositivity to SARS-CoV-2 over time, and changes in seropositivity in a defined young adult population over time. 4. Where salivary Immunoglobulin A (IgA) may be used to provide an alternative/ complementary serological method 5. The effect (if any) of vitamin D supplementation on seroconversion rates stratified by: i) level of baseline vitamin D 'deficiency/ insufficiency/ sufficiency' status; ii) extent of BMI-defined normal/overweight/obesity cut-offs and iii) gender.

There are currently no antiviral drugs with proven efficacy nor are there vaccines for its prevention. Unfortunately, the scientific community has little knowledge of the molecular details of SARS-CoV-2 infection. The drugs we are chosen are used as clinical trials for antiviral and there is no proven guide for specificity and effectiveness against the virus so the results are different Now the clinical trials and research authorities are work speedily to target the most proven treatment for the virus so anything is infantile until now. the covid-19 with time be more explained by scientists it is steroid response disease and cause thromosis and cytokine storm , the aim of the study to inhibit viral replication and decrease the severity of the disease as antiviral and anticytokine storm , antithrombosis Zinc is a mineral element needed to regulate adaptive immune cells' functions. Higher level of intracellular zinc showed to increase intracellular pH; which affect on RNA-dependent RNA polymerase and decrease replication mechanism of RNA viruses. Therefore, drugs that described as zinc ionophores could be used with zinc supplement to act as antiviral against many RNA viruses including SARS-CoV-2 Quercetin is natural compound act as zinc ionophore to cause zinc influx intracellular. Quercetin is a safe natural anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory polyphenolic compound that found in various natural sources include onion, red grapes, honey and citrus fruits. It was shown that quercetin has the ability to chelate zinc ions and act as zinc ionophore. Therefore, quercetin could have antiviral activity against many RNA viruses . Quercetin, a flavonoid found in fruits and vegetables, has unique biological properties that may improve mental/physical performance and reduce infection risk ; These properties form the basis for potential benefits to overall health and disease resistance, including anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antioxidant, and psychostimulant activities, as well as the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation, platelet aggregation and capillary permeability, and to stimulate mitochondrial biogenesis .There are various studies that report the immunomodulatory effect of bromelain . Bromelain activates natural killer cells and augments the production of granulocyte-macrophage-colony stimulating factor, IL-2, IL-6 and decreases the activation of Thelper cells. Thus, bromelain decreases the majority of inflammatory mediators and has demonstrated a significant role as an anti-inflammatory agent in various conditions Vitamin C is known as an essential anti-oxidant.,and enzymatic co-factor for physiological reactions such as hormone production, collagen synthesis and immune potentiation . Naturally, an insufficiency of vitamin C leads to severe injuries to multiple organs, especially to the heart and brain, since they are both highly aerobic organs that produce more oxygen radicals. In fact, studies of in vivo effect on vitamin C are difficult since most animals, except human and some primate, are capable of synthesizing vitamin C endogenously

The first COVID-19 case was identified on March 7, 2020. Since then, 4127 deaths of the total 3,40583 confirmed cases are reported in Bangladesh of August 26, 2020. this new virus there has been an increase in the number of pneumonia, which are characterized by fever, sore throat ,asthenia, dry cough, lymphopenia, prolonged prothrombin time, elevated lactic dehydrogenase and CRP and a tomographic imaging indicative of interstitial pneumonia (ground glass and patchy shadows). Severe disease occurs in 15% of the cases with COVID-19 and may progress to critical disease in only 5% of the cases with a high risk of mortality. Critical disease may present as acute respiratory failure secondary to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome mainstay of treatment is supportive. Recent studies have shown the efficacy of vitamin C and Zinc administration in patients hospitalized for sepsis in the setting of intensive wards in terms of mortality reduction. The use of vitamin C arises from the experimental evidence of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Zinc is known to modulate antiviral and antibacterial immunity and regulate inflammatory response. Zn may possess protective effect as preventive and adjuvant therapy of COVID-19 through reducing inflammation, improvement of mucociliary clearance, prevention of ventilator induced lung injury, modulation of antiviral and antibacterial immunity. Severity assessment tools for identifying patients at risk of deterioration due to sepsis. The quick Sequential (Sepsis-related) Organ Failure Assessment tool is the recommended tool to screen patients with suspected infection outside the intensive care unit (one point for each of altered mentation, respiratory rate ≥22 and systolic blood pressure ≤100 mmHg, with a score ≥2 suggesting high risk for deterioration).More generic tools designed to predict deterioration regardless of etiology have also been designed, such as the National Early Warning Score , widely used in the English National Health Service, Access alertness, RR, blood pressure , heart rate, oxygen saturation and temperature with increasing values for more abnormal measurements. A score of ≥3 in any category or score ≥5 overall triggers urgent patient review.D isease specific tools, such as CURB65, are recommended by respiratory societies worldwide. Each of altered mentation, blood urea >7.0, RR ≥30, SBP
