Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

This study is a combined Phase 1 and Phase 2 study with IV infusion of NGM621 to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and PK in healthy volunteers (Part 1), and safety, tolerability, PK and efficacy in subjects with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection (Part 2).

The non-essential and non-urgent follow-up consultations of patients living with HIV were postponed or transformed into "teleconsultation" or exchanges of e-mails between practitioners and patients during COVID-19 epidemic. This change in care can have an impact on follow-up and access to treatment for PVVIH.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of metformin glycinate at dose of 620 mg twice per day plus standard treatment comparing to standard treatment alone (we will use placebo) of patients who have metabolic syndrome or type 2 diabetes, which have severe acute respiratory syndrome secondary to SARS-CoV-2.

This study is a prospective, observational, open, monocentric multisite, pharmacokinetic study of hydroxychloroquine in critically ill patients. The aim of this study is to assess the pharmacokinetic behavior of hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19 critically ill patients treated with crushed hydroxychloroquine tablets (administered enterally using a nasogastric tube).

Our understanding of the clinical manifestations of COVID-19 is growing on a daily basis and there is evidence that increased age, cardiovascular risk factors and cardiac comorbidity are strongly associated with poor outcomes. Furthermore, myocardial injury occurs and is associated with a much worse outcome and rapid increase in mortality. There have been several reports of myocarditis and heart failure following infection. The mechanisms of myocardial injury and its consequences are not well understood. In an ongoing peer-reviewed and funded study, the investigators are evaluating the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to characterise and to understand the mechanisms of heart failure and myocarditis. Following strong encouragement by the British Heart Foundation, the investigators now propose to extend this investigation to patients who have recovered from COVID-19 infection to understand the mechanisms of myocardial injury that they have experienced. Using gadolinium and manganese-enhanced MRI combined with Computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA), the investigators will assess the mechanisms and direct impact of myocardial injury in patients who have recovered from COVID-19 infection. This will help the investigators understand how best to manage individuals who demonstrate evidence of myocardial injury and potentially provide insights that could lead to novel treatment interventions to reduce such injury and improve patient outcomes.

The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate (at the time of admission) biomarkers of interest (Human Plasma BAK125 panel + interferon panel) for dexamethasone responders versus non-responders in SARS-CoV-2 hypoxemic pneumonia. The secondary objectives are to describe and compare between groups: - The number of days without mechanical ventilation - The need for mechanical ventilation - 28-day mortality - Progression towards acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) - Change in the qSOFA score - Length of hospitalization - The change in the extent of lesions on thoracic computed tomography scan between inclusion and D7 (or the day of discharge from hospital if

The additional effect of personalized health education compared to general education following the internationally accepted principles will be evaluated in the prevention of the serious course of the novel coronavirus infection. It is hypothesised that personalized health education provides a greater degree of lifestyle change, thus the risk of a serious course of infection decreases.
