Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

Several studies have shown that smokers have a higher risk of developing a severe form of COVID-19 once a person has been infected. This is explained by the damage caused by smoking at the bronchopulmonary level and an overexpression of some coronavirus receptors at the pulmonary level when exposed to tobacco. In contrast, recent data indicate that smokers are proportionally less infected with the COVID-19 virus since all available cohort data from around the world show a very low rate of smokers among COVID-19 infected subjects. The mechanisms at the origin of this protective effect are not known. All of these data lead us to question the real role of nicotine in the protective effect of tobacco observed in the general population against infection by the COVID-19 virus. The objectives are : - To show that subjects taking nicotine substitutes as part of a smoking cessation program are less infected with COVID-19 than non-smokers. - To show that active smokers are less infected with COVID-19 than non-smokers. - To compare the percentage of positive serological tests in subjects taking nicotine substitutes to the percentage of positive serological tests in active smokers.

This study seeks to investigate the role of lung ultrasound in caring for Covid-19 positive patients and whether it can be used to predict patient deterioration. This information will be vital for healthcare workers who seek to identify Covid-19 pneumonia or patients at risk for deterioration early in the disease course.

Rapid antigenic tests are not yet used in real life. Their contribution in the diagnostic strategy based on the gold standard including anamnesis, thoracic CT and PCR has not been evaluated. We propose to compare to the Gold-Standard defined above, the combination of an SARS-Cov-2 antigen, anamnesis and thoracic CT for the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a pandemic of unprecedented proportions with an exponential increase in incidence. Airway epithelium infection caused by coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) triggers a cascade of difficult-to-control reactions, a so-called "cytokine storm". In contrast to the previously used method of external beam radiation therapy for patients at high risk of a cytokine storm, in present study a different dose delivery mechanism through inhalation of 99mTc-labeled carbon ultrafine aerosol obtained from a TechnegasPlus generator is used. By utilizing anthropometric phantoms the dosimetric characteristics of the applied technique and obtained the coefficients of the transition from the count rate over the area of interest to the activity contained in this area (in kBq) were studied. By observing a group of healthy volunteers after inhalation of 99mTc-labeled carbon ultrafine aerosol, the accumulated dose in the human lungs under internal irradiation of 99mTc was determined. A novel technique has been developed and the possibility of using inhaled low-dose radionuclide therapy in the complex treatment of patients with COVID-19 - associated pneumonia has been studied. As a result, a significant improvement of hematological parameters in the group of patients after inhalation of 99mTc-labeled carbon ultrafine aerosol as compared to the control group is expected.

For many patients with hematologic disorders and bone marrow failure, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) or cellular therapy (CART) offers a curative treatment option. Patients after SCT or CART have a variable period of immune deficiency in the post-treatment period. The response to vaccination may affect the outcome of the transplant patients. the immunogenicity of vaccines in this immunosuppressed population is uncertain and variable. HSCT and CAR-T recipients are in a COVID-19 high-risk group and conferring immunity by vaccination at the earliest effective timepoint is desirable. At present, the immunogenicity and efficacy of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in immune-impaired patients including autologous and allogeneic HSCT recipients is unknown. Furthermore, the impact of GvHD and IST on SARS-CoV-2 vaccine immunogenicity is unknown. the investigators aim to evaluate the vaccination response to COVID vaccines after SCT and CART

The clinical trial is designed to be randomized, double blind, placebo controlled, to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Jinhua Qinggan granules (JHQG) on mild-category patients of COVID-19 in Pakistani population with the age limit of 18-75 years, at10th day comprehensive follow-up. The informed consent form must be signed by the subjects before their participation in the trial.

The investigators hypothese that lung involvement due to COVID-19 may cause structural changes in the lung in the long term. In this study the effects of structural changes in the lung on pulmonary function tests, exercise capacity and quality of life will be examined.
