Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

The disease caused by the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, called COVID-19, it has considered a worldwide pandemia by the WHO. Suddently, it produces a lot of patients severe ill, in a little geographic area, that could surpase the resourses of the any health system in the world. There is no documentation of an effective alternative for the treatment of the severe ill patients, that can reduce the mortality or the adverse events suffered by these people. It is has suggested the usefulness of the Mesenchymal Stem cells (MSC) for the management of these patients, thanks to their direct and indirect antiviral capacity, and its potency as immunomodulator, that could ameliorate the lung disease and the severity of COVID-19.
Nordsjaellands Hospital
This is a randomized controlled trial of isolated patients with diabetes admitted to Nordsjællands Hospital with or without COVID-19-pneumonia. A continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) based system with transmission of glucose data to a central system is used for remote monitoring of glucose levels and compared to standard finger-prick glucose. Blinded (to patients) CGM is mounted in the finger-prick group.

GC004 is a Phase I trial to evaluate the safety and the immune responses of a therapeutic vaccine in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients. Covid-19 confirmed patients with mild or no symptoms will be enrolled sequentially into low dose and high dose groups. Following the vaccination subjects who received at least one vaccination will be followed for safety through week 26.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has affected the global population with significant morbidity and mortality. One of the main concerns is the management of the patients since there is no specific treatment for this condition. Therefore, in SARS-CoV-2 patients the compassionate use of off-label therapies has been initiated; such as the use of plasma from convalescent patients. This treatment has been used in other pandemics like SARS-CoV-1, H5N1, H1N1, Ebola, among others. This study is a phase II/III randomized clinical trial to assess the effectiveness and safety of convalescent plasma administration in patients with high-risk SARS-CoV-2.

The fight against the spread of the 2019-nCoV epidemic has achieved some success in China, but the epidemic is far from over. A key factor making the epidemic under control in China is the government's call for social distance, which has led to few people going out for donation. As a result, the number of blood donors on the streets has been continuing to decline. The first urgent recruitment of blood donors had been implemented during the period from 30 April to 10 May via emergency recruitment SMS . This second repeat trial has been designed to further confirm the results from the the first recruitment by comparing which information extraction frameworks would be more sensitive to blood donors in emergency situations.

During the Coronavirus pandemic children's hearing services are closed or reduced and grommet operations are part of the lowest priority group. In the absence of management options, this research study aims to see if bone conduction headphones either paired (via bluetooth) to a microphone or an app will help children with a hearing loss during this period of waiting. The child's quality of life is measured with validated questionnaires The study is over 3 months, and delivered remotely, with the product being sent to the family home and support offered via telephone/ video consulattion.

The main objective of the study will be to evaluate the effectiveness of an adjuvant lifestyle-based intervention for treatment-resistant patients with major depressive disorder. Patients will be allocated to one of these three groups: 1)Treatment prescribed by their mental health team plus written lifestyle change suggestions 2)Treatment prescribed by their mental health team plus written lifestyle change suggestions plus 8-week Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) program 3) Treatment prescribed by their mental health team plus written lifestyle change suggestions plus 8-week lifestyle change promotion program. We will collect patient data using the questionnaires administered at baseline, immediately after the intervention, and at six and 12-month follow-up. The primary outcome will be depression severity and secondary outcomes will include health-related quality of life.
