Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.

On 17th March 2020, 198 193 confirmed cases (7 730 in France) of COVID-19 infections and 7 854 deaths (175 in France) have been reported from 8th December 2019 in 157 countries. The rapid increase in cases on french territory has led to the transition of France to level 3 of the epidemic on 14th March 2020. The natural history of the disease is still poorly understood, especially prognostic factors, which are crucial for the best medical care of patients in times of epidemics, when hospital capacities are under pressure. A better knowledge of natural history, of prognostic factors, the development and validation of new diagnostic tests, the evaluation of medical care, will lead to a better medical care of patients infected with COVID-19.

The current outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has been marked by severe psychological problems. People around the world experienced a similarly frightening public health emergency, on a global scale, with the spread of this corona infection. (1) Studies of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreaks that occurred in Canada, Taiwan, and Hong Kong found that the enormous emotional burden carried by those health care workers who were on the front lines of the battle against the disease led to psychological morbidity like anxiety, stress and even further leads to Post traumatic stress disorder. The initial phase of the COVID-19 outbreak in China in 2020 also reported more than half of the respondents rated the psychological impact as moderate-to-severe, and about one-third reported moderate-to-severe anxiety in general population.(2) - The chances of Fear, anxiety and stress are even higher in Individuals with preexisting liver disease as they have restriction of services for getting treatment. Moreover, they can have the following additional issues: - Fear of severe form of Corona present (as presented in most of the media and research) - Fear of dying - Added uncertainty - Family members also worried

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 infectious disease arising from the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is rising substantially and rapidly, with the potential to overwhelm the ability of the entire National Health Service (NHS) to cope with the increased demand. The availability of personal protective equipment is limited and reports of high risk procedures such as aerosol generating procedures (e.g. intubation for the sickest patients) is a source of great concern for infection transmission. Frontline NHS staff with direct patient contact have the highest likelihood of exposure to SARS-CoV-2 and development of COVID-19 disease. Efforts to protect these workers from development of COVID-19, using drugs to prevent the disease, require urgent evaluation.

According to recent publications, the percentage of caregivers infected with COVID 19 is evaluated between 10 and 30% . This great variability is due, on the one hand to the intensity of the influx of covid plus patients and, on the other hand, to the disparity in the preparation of caregivers in the face of this emergency. Indeed, we can understand that the strict application of hygiene rules can be faulted in the face of the volume of patients, the lack of protective equipment and the lack of specific training for caregivers in this area. As a result, within healthcare teams, there are many questions that generate anxiety: will I be able to provide care properly while protecting myself from the risk of contamination? This anxiety is also present and sometimes manifests itself aggressively in the entourage or in the vicinity of caregivers, due to lack of scientific data adapted to the local ecology of the crisis. Thus, the aim of this study is to show that the risk for caregivers of being contaminated by COVID in an area dedicated to COVID positive patients is no higher than being a caregiver in a non-COVID area that he either in the adult or pediatric sector.

The rationale of the present clinical trial is that an orally available drug given to outpatients that could reduce the viral burden in the upper respiratory tract could forestall complications of SARS-CoV-2 infection and reduce transmission from one infected individual to another.

Experimental Use of Convalescent Plasma of Passive Immunisation In Current COVID-19 Pandemic in Pakistan in 2020 Rationale & Objective: This study would help to gather real-life setting clinical data in local population, ultimately leading to increased evidence based management of the disease condition in the said population. Eligibility: 1. informed consent must have been obtained 2. confirmed COVID-19 cases confirmed by RT-PCR laboratory tests 3. moderately severe or severe life-threatening COVID-19 related features: a) Moderately Severe disease as defined by the following features: i) Shortness of breath, ii) respiratory rate ≥ 30/min, iii) arterial blood oxygen saturation ≤ 92%, iv) and/or lung infiltrates > 25% within 24 to 48 hours 67 b) Severe Life-threatening disease as defined by: i) respiratory failure, ii) shock, and/or § multiple organ dysfunction Exclusion Criteria: Allergy history of plasma, sodium citrate and methylene blue; 2. For patients with history of autoimmune system diseases or selective IgA deficiency, 3. the application of convalescent plasma should be evaluated cautiously by clinicians. 4. Patients having evidence of uncontrolled cytokine release syndrome leading to end-stage multiorgan failure. Methodology: Total sample size is n=2000. A case report form (CRF) will have to be generated for each corona virus patient at baseline and the completion of study endpoint (at the time of discharge and at 4 weeks after experimental treatment modality using convalescent plasma. - A unique identification number will be issued for each patient in this protocol. - This data will be recorded in the national database. Data sources & Analysis: Patient data originating from patient medical record and assessments (mentioned in table below) will be recorded in the study CRF. Safety data (AEs and SAEs) from any time point during the study will be recorded in the study CRF. All analyses will be performed by third party statistician on SPSS. For continuous variables, summary statistics included n (number of observations), mean, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum values, as well as frequencies and percentages for categorical variables will be presented.

The on-going Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has become the world's leading health headline and is causing major panic and public concerns. On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that the new coronavirus outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern; and March 11, 2020, characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic. On March, 13, Europe become epicenter of the pandemic all countries in South America had been infected with at least one case. Health authorities, including WHO, have issued safety recommendations for taking simple precautions to reduce exposure to and transmission of the virus. Home stay is a fundamental safety step that can limit infections from spreading widely. Unfortunately, the mandated directives against travelling and participating in outdoor activities will inevitably disrupt the routine daily activities of tens of millions of people. Prolonged home stays may lead to widespread fear and panic, anxiety and depression, which in turn can lead to a sedentary lifestyle. Thus, while quarantine is a safe and priority measure, may have unintended negative consequences. These efforts to avoid human-to-human transmission of the virus may lead to spend excessive amounts of time sitting, reclining or lying down for screening activities (games, television, mobile devices); reducing energy expenditure that, consequently, lead to an increased in a range of chronic health conditions. Therefore, there is a strong health rationale for continuing physical activity in the home to stay healthy and prevent a wide range of psychological problems on people during outbreaks of infection. However, currently, there is no sufficient information on the psychological impact and mental health of the general public during the peak of the COVID-19 epidemic and a timely understanding of mental health status is urgently needed for society. To our knowledge, there are no research examining the psychological and social impact on COVID-19 on the general population. The aim of this research is to determinate the psychological responses in general population in order to understand the anxiety, depression and stress level during Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) confinement period, and how the level of physical activity development during this exceptional period could be influence.
