Around the world, researchers are working extremely hard to develop new treatments and interventions for COVID-19 with new clinical trials opening nearly every day. This directory provides you with information, including enrollment detail, about these trials. In some cases, researchers are able to offer expanded access (sometimes called compassionate use) to an investigational drug when a patient cannot participate in a clinical trial.
The information provided here is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov. If you do not find a satisfactory expanded access program here, please search in our COVID Company Directory. Some companies consider expanded access requests for single patients, even if they do not show an active expanded access listing in this database. Please contact the company directly to explore the possibility of expanded access.
Emergency INDs
To learn how to apply for expanded access, please visit our Guides designed to walk healthcare providers, patients and/or caregivers through the process of applying for expanded access. Please note that given the situation with COVID-19 and the need to move as fast as possible, many physicians are requesting expanded access for emergency use. In these cases, FDA will authorize treatment by telephone and treatment can start immediately. For more details, consult FDA guidance. Emergency IND is the common route that patients are receiving convalescent plasma.
Search Tips
To search this directory, simply type a drug name, condition, company name, location, or other term of your choice into the search bar and click SEARCH. For broadest results, type the terms without quotation marks; to narrow your search to an exact match, put your terms in quotation marks (e.g., “acute respiratory distress syndrome” or “ARDS”). You may opt to further streamline your search by using the Status of the study and Intervention Type options. Simply click one or more of those boxes to refine your search.

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted anesthesia care all over the world. There remains very little data on current practice patterns and patient outcomes, particularly in anesthetized children. This is a prospective observational, multi-center study to investigate airway management related outcomes in children undergoing anesthesia during this pandemic. The investigators will compare the incidence of complications (particularly hypoxemia) in patients with COVID-19 to those who are COVID-19 negative during airway management. This is a phase I/IIa trial to evaluate the safety, tolerability and immunological profile of INO-4800 administered by intradermal (ID) injection followed by electroporation (EP) using the CELLECTRA® 2000 device in healthy adults aged 19 to 64 years in Republic of Korea. INO- 4800 contains the plasmid pGX9501, which encodes for the full length of the Spike glycoprotein of SARS-CoV-2. The primary objective of this trial is to evaluate the tolerability, safety, and immunogenicity of INO-4800 administered by ID injection followed by EP in healthy adults in the Part A and Part B. Enrollment into Part A, and Part B will proceed sequentially.

This study will test and follow persons quarantined at home after testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 (COV) aged 18 years and older and their household members aged 1 year and older. The purpose of this research study is to understand how often COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) spreads in the household when someone who tests positive for the virus self-isolates at home. The purpose of the extension part of the study is to help us understand long-term immunity to COVID-19. We are interested in how our immune system might still protect us from COVID-19 even after antibody levels decrease or are no longer detected. We are also interested in how immunity to COVID-19 is different in kids vs. adults.

Prehospital providers encounter patients with suspected stroke frequently. Stroke and COVID-19 are related potentially putting these healthcare workers at risk of COVID-19 infection. In addition, prehospital providers need tools to help triage large vessel stroke patients to comprehensive stroke centers.

With the outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), the frontline medical workers faced enormous stress, including a high risk of infection and inadequate protection from contamination, isolation, patients with negative emotions, a lack of contact with their families, and exhaustion, which may cause mental health problems. The investigators plan to collect the faecal samples and clinical assessments from a part of frontline medical workers in three time points to analyse the changing profile of gut microbiome according to outcomes of 16s rRNA sequencing. The samples from the matched health controls will also be sequenced to compare with the exposed group in gut microbiome community.

The study aim is to collect and analyze data of potential Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that could be used for discriminating between patients with and without COVID-19 or with high-risk for COVID-19 by DiaNose breath test. up to 300 subjects will be enrolled to the study ( 200 COVID-19 suspected and 100 healthy volunteers in two clinical sites (1 in Israel and 1 in US). DiaNose system is an electronic nose device that can "smell" diseases in the exhaled breath of patients in real time. This approach is non-invasive, simple and save. The DiaNose prototype system consists the following elements: A Soft Tube connected to a Sensors Chamber - The soft tube is made of medical grade silicon. The subject blows air into the tube for a few seconds and the exhaled air is directed through the sensors chamber. This unit is for single use. • Sensors Reading Unit- a multi used unit for sensors signals measurement. The Sensor Reading Unit is connected to a Laptop that is used to activate and save the test measurements.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate if a postural recruitment maneuver (PRM) improves the aeration and distribution of lung ventilation in patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) caused by COVID-19 infection; without the need to reach high airway pressures as in the standard lung recruitment maneuver and / or place the patient in prone position. This strategy could be particularly useful in the context of a major health emergency in centers with limited resources.
